Mother in career coaching: Elena Santos

Elena Santos is a mother of two small children and has recently graduated as a goldsmith. Elena was on parental leave, when she received a letter from Kela regarding the career coaching. She got interested in the coaching and was chosen to participate in Tampere.
− I wanted to try being a self-employed entrepreneur. I found I needed support in this endeavour and in searching for related information. This career coaching seemed like the right option, Elena says.
During her studies and even afterwards, entrepreneurship seemed like a very difficult and risky step for Elena. During the career coaching, Elena found the courage to become a small entrepreneur in her goldsmith’s career.
− I have become familiar with the requirements of, and aids for entrepreneurship. I have been able to take my time in working out the business plan. I have also received support with courses and in searching for information. I have now applied for a course in entrepreneurship and hope it will give me the opportunity to learn for example about marketing, Elena states.
