The future of work and labour is undergoing constant changes – we process foresight data also for the benefit of our interest groups
Skills Foresight
The Service Centre for Continuous Learning and Employment studies future skills and training needs. We combine the labour market's needs and people's skills, collect and analyze foresight data from the perspective of continuous learning, and finance training that is currently needed in the Finnish labour market.
Through skills foresight, we analyse competence from the point of view of continuous learning.
Key questions for us are:
- Which new skills do employed people need?
- Which industries or areas will be undergoing significant transitions in the near future?
- How can positive labour market transitions be advanced?
Our analysis and data production serves the skills development of working-age people and the availability of skilled labour. We allocate funding to training and education needed on the labour market in the near future.
Our foresight data service, the Skills Needs Compass, offers up-to-date information on skills needed in working life. Through skills foresight, the objective of the service is to provide support in fixing the job and skills mismatch, developing services for continuous learning and in knowledge based management.
